JOB PURPOSE:
To assist in the production of cartons producing finished product in accordance with ISO 9001 & PS9000 and the company’s best practice quality and safety procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Production
1. To comply with current systems of working including established shift patterns.
2. To work as a team to achieve daily/weekly production targets as part of a crew on the gluing assembly lines reporting to the machine operator.
3. To achieve the highest possible quality standards working within the guidelines outlined in the established quality systems to achieve customer specification.
4. Follow standard operating procedures and training to ensure product is fed, glued, inspected, and packed.
5. Quality check cartons whilst feeding these into the gluing machine.
6. Quality check glued cartons whilst coming off gluing lines.
7. Pack into correct corrugates per customer specification.
8. Comply with sampling process as per customer request.
9. Participate as part of a team to maximise machine efficiency.
10. Participate in continuous learning and development to update skills and participate in improvement initiatives in production.
11. To work flexibly across all the finishing departments.
Health and Safety
1. To work in a safe manner adhering to laid down health and safety procedures.
2. To report all accidents and dangerous occurrences and potential risks and ensure you behave in a way which minimizes risk to yourself and others.
Maintenance
1. To assist in the maintenance of all machinery and equipment in line with established planned maintenance programs.
2. To keep work area clean and tidy ensuring that the highest standards of housekeeping and hygiene are maintained.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Sound process knowledge of a manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
2. Knowledge of the Pharmaceutical/Healthcare market desirable but not essential.
3. Familiar with quality standards and procedures and ability to examine cartons to a high-quality standard is desirable.
4. I.T literacy with a good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
5. Good organisational and time management skills.
6. The ability to work with minimal supervision.
7. Methodical approach to undertaking tasks.
8. Problem-solving skills.
