What will you be doing?
* Lead and manage the Biochemistry department, ensuring effective service delivery for a range of clinical disciplines.
* Maintain financial accountability within the department.
* Oversee the management of non-clinical staff, equipment, and consumables.
* Ensure the highest standards of quality assurance and quality control in testing processes.
* Ensure compliance with key accreditations (UKAS, MHRA, HTA, etc.) and regulatory requirements (HSE, GDPR, etc.).
* Oversee staffing allocation to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient services.
* Manage performance reviews, training, and development for staff.
* Develop and maintain departmental documentation and procedures.
* Monitor key quality indicators, including turnaround times.
What do you need?
* HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
* 6-7 years of post-registration experience in a relevant clinical discipline.
* MSc level qualification and/or IBMS Specialist Diploma or equivalent.
* FIBMS/Chartered Scientist status (or equivalent experience).
* Management qualification is desirable, or a willingness to work towards this.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing staff and resources.
