We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to be recruited into the role of Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner for our Acute Medical and Flow & Navigation Team. As a Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), you will be at the forefront of delivering and leading high-quality care. This lead role combines your clinical expertise with your leadership skills to ensure seamless and effective patient care.
The position involves an 80/20 split between clinical duties and management/leadership responsibilities, ensuring you remain clinically prominent while also driving forward the transformation of front door medical services. While undertaking the clinical duties (80%), you will provide expert patient care as an ANP, utilising your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage a variety of acute conditions, advising on appropriate pathways and ensuring optimal patient care and experience. You will be an integral part of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner team, ensuring patient safety and effective care delivery.
Leadership and Management (20%), you will lead, manage and support the current Advanced Nurse Practitioner team (~15 WTE) by providing clinical supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. You will have operational management and leadership responsibility for the team alongside overseeing the implementation of clinical guidelines, protocols, and policies and supporting a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence in patient care.
We are looking for an experienced ANP with extensive relevant experience. Strong leadership and management skills are essential. You should be able to inspire and guide your colleagues, driving high standards of care and professional development. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team. Have strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make sound clinical decisions in high-pressure situations. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. Your offer/contract of employment will therefore reflect the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
