DEBRA is recruiting for a Membership Event Coordinator to join our friendly, supportive team at our Bracknell, Head Office.
Our new Membership Event Coordinator will join us on a Full Time, Permanent basis, working a contract of 35 hours per week with the possibility of up to 2 days working from home, earning a salary of up to £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About DEBRA
We are a national charity supporting individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a painful genetic skin blistering condition which can be fatal in severe cases.
The Role
As our Membership Event Coordinator, you will coordinate an annual suite of member-focused events, both in person and virtually. Use insights and feedback from our members to design and deliver events that meet their needs, providing opportunities for support and connection.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate in-person events, liaising with venues, suppliers, and speakers, including contracting.
* Coordinate virtual events, managing online platforms, securing speakers, and integrating with our CRM.
* Follow key event processes including health & safety, risk assessments, database updates, and consents.
* Assist in developing member communications to promote events.
* Support event delivery and hosting, sharing responsibilities within the team.
* Track and report on event status and expenditure.
* Update systems with event details and provide statistics for reporting.
* Coordinate post-event activities, including communications and feedback collection.
* Help analyze member feedback for continuous improvement.
* Assist in planning future events with member feedback at the core.
* Collaborate across departments to include members in other DEBRA UK events.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Experience in event management, both in person and online.
* Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, online platforms, project tracking, CRM, and basic webpage maintenance.
* Experience designing processes to improve team efficiency.
* Confidence to host small events independently.
* Experience in communication planning for diverse audiences.
* Charity or non-profit sector experience is beneficial.
Person Specification
* Highly organized, with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
* Comfortable working with new software.
* Excellent communication skills across email, phone, and face-to-face.
* Proactive in building stakeholder relationships.
* Ability to travel and visit locations independently.
* Experience working with third-party suppliers and securing contracts.
* Collaborative and able to work independently.
