About the Role
This is predominantly an office-based role but there is scope to work flexibly which is balanced with meeting the service needs and demands.
The post holder will be part of the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment (MARAC) process and take a lead role on behalf of Children and Families services to ensure children's needs are identified and supported within the process both at a casework and more developmental level. The post holder will participate in a daily multi-agency MARAC meeting, prepare and present information shared in the meeting on behalf of Children's Social Care (CSC) and Targeted Family Help (TFH) and act as a link with allocated case holders to ensure children's needs are represented and understood and plans to achieve best outcomes communicated. This will include liaison with TFH and CSC managers where referrals may be required for services.
The post holder will also participate as appropriate in other associated MARAC groups and meetings such as the MARAC Operational Group (MOG) and meetings for complex/repeat MARAC cases on behalf of CFS.
The post holder will also provide consultation and advice and training to workers across children and families services to promote and embed the role of MARAC; the use of DASH risk assessments and be the single point of contact for internal referrals to MARAC.
The post holder will contribute to the wider development of Domestic Abuse Services for children and their families as part of First Response, sharing skills and knowledge to support good outcomes including where necessary delivering training and support to practitioners. This may include chairing strategy discussions in response to complex Domestic abuse issues and offering support to case holders.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must:
* Appropriate social work professional qualification such as MA, DipSW CQSW with experience working in a statutory child safeguarding setting.
* A thorough working knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse: impact on children and their outcomes; understanding of risk in situations of domestic abuse as well as knowledge of child development and the needs of children and young people.
* Ability to identify and manage information, thresholds and risk, develop safety plans and make recommendations which achieve positive outcomes for children, and ability to analyse basic data to inform project plans and priorities for action.
* Ability to inform, influence, share knowledge and build partnerships and participate in multi-agency forums, as well as chair these meetings (strategy discussion / MARAC). Evidence to work collaboratively with partners to influence the achievement of successful outcomes and ability to use information technology applications e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Word and database applications as relevant to the department.
* Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
* The ability to prioritise effectively across a wide range of competing demands to meet deadlines and the ability to respond flexibly to changing requirements.
* Evidence contributes to the wider development of a service, sharing skills and knowledge to support good outcomes including where necessary delivering training and support to practitioners.
