Are you looking for the opportunity to work as a team lead in a children’s physiotherapy service? We have a very supportive community team and this could be perfect for you.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Experienced Children’s Physiotherapist to take on the team lead role for the community caseload based in the children's resource centre. This role will involve supporting and leading the small physio team of band 6 physios and band 4 therapy assistants working with a mixed caseload in clinic and community.
We would welcome an experienced band 6 physio looking to develop skills in a supportive and friendly environment, or a band 7 physio looking to develop team lead responsibilities. You will be based in the community team at the Phoenix Children's Resource Centre in Bromley and be expected to be able to travel to pre-schools, schools and homes to see children in their community setting when this is most appropriate.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a dynamic, friendly physiotherapy and multi-disciplinary team, seeing children and young people with a wide variety of conditions.
1. Provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to children and young people, carers and families.
2. Undertake the lead role in the assessment, diagnosis and formulation of physiotherapy treatment plans.
3. Be the physiotherapy lead within the multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist advice to other health professionals.
4. Provide supervision and education to band 6 physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, and physiotherapy students.
5. Be the responsible lead for the operational delivery of a defined area/team within the service.
6. Work closely with CAMHS, Wheelchair Services, Orthotics services, and other providers to ensure integrated physiotherapy treatment.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Diploma or Degree in physiotherapy recognised by HCPC.
* Registered with HCPC
* Evidence of CPD to high level of clinical expertise in chosen paediatric area.
* Member of APCP
* Post Graduate courses relevant to paediatric speciality.
Experience
* Post registration experience as band 6 in the field of paediatrics.
* Experience and sound understanding of working with children’s safeguarding procedures.
* Experience of supervising and teaching junior and undergraduate physiotherapists.
Skills
* Excellent advanced communication skills written and spoken.
* Able to deal with parents and other professionals who have anxieties and concerns.
* Ability to manage, prioritise, delegate and organise.
