About the division
Environmental and social considerations are central to Mott MacDonald’s Purpose and its offerings across all sectors and territories. Our environment and social business provides essential services and innovative solutions which anticipate our clients' needs across all sectors.
Overview of role:
The legislative and investment-driven focus on nature is accelerating, with increased recognition that economies and societies depend on thriving and resilient ecosystems. Mott MacDonald are leading the way in Nature Services, and we are looking for people to join our Natural Capital Team, helping clients to recognise the intrinsic value of the natural environment and account for the benefits that it provides.
We pride ourselves on developing and driving innovative approaches to better incorporate environmental risks and opportunities into decision-making. We have developed our bespoke Natural Capital Assessment, underpinned by the Mott MacDonald UK Natural Capital Map, to support clients with strategic assessments.
Joining our team as a Principal Nature and Environmental Consultant, you will have a balance of technical-based work, environmental coordination, and business development. You will lead natural capital and environmental net gain assessments, working with clients to respond to new and forthcoming legislation, and collaborate across environmental discipline teams to help projects identify potential benefits that can be delivered by good environmental design.
The projects you will be working on can span all stages of a project’s life cycle, from design conception to implementation; giving opportunities to positively influence scheme design and promote best practice.
Although you will be a member of the Natural Capital team, you will also be connected to the much larger team delivering Nature Services. There are excellent opportunities to progress your career through promotion, as well as develop a key role within our Natural Capital team.
