We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Project Officer to lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects within the local authority. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile initiatives that enhance local services, infrastructure, and community outcomes. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and the local community to ensure successful project delivery within budget, timeframe, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee project development from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with the local authority’s vision and policies.
2. Manage resources effectively, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure successful project outcomes.
3. Lead contract management of externally appointed consultants (up to six per project).
4. Manage tenders and appoint specialist technical advisors as required.
5. Provide expert advice on project management methodologies and drive continuous improvement in project delivery.
6. Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and best practices in project governance.
7. Liaise with and co-ordinate local community and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

* Broomfield House Stage 1 Lottery Funded Project
* Edmonton Cemetery Extension
About You
To excel in this role, you will need:
1. Strong project management experience, preferably in a local government or public sector environment.
2. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups.
4. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to achieving positive community outcomes.
5. A solid understanding of contract management, risk mitigation, and governance frameworks.
