Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner - Oxford

We are a nationally recognized, high-performing NHS Talking Therapies service, supporting over 15,000 adults with common mental health difficulties annually. Staff wellbeing is a priority, with dedicated initiatives, away days, and an Employee Assistance Programme.
Our hybrid working model includes three days in-office and two from home, with main bases in central Oxford, with additional clinics across the county—travel is required.
Qualified PWPs must maintain annual registration with the BPS or BABCP, with unregistered candidates starting at Band 4 until confirmed. Main duties of the job
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
1. Conduct telephone screenings for adults with common mental health issues, including those with long-term conditions, to assess presenting problems, desired changes, and treatment options.
2. Evaluate risk to self and others, create risk management plans, and address safeguarding concerns in consultation with Safeguarding Leads.
3. Provide information on the stepped care model and evidence-based interventions, including Guided Self-Help, psychoeducation, digital therapies, and pharmacological options.
4. Determine appropriate interventions or referrals within the stepped care framework in collaboration with a supervisor.
5. Set and review professional objectives with senior therapists as part of ongoing development.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Postgraduate or Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Psychological Treatment (IAPT pathway), relating to Adults with common mental health problems.
* PWP Registration (or evidence of application submission) with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
* To have attended the IAPT LTC training.
Contractual Requirements
* Ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation.
* To work flexibly within service hours which includes work up until 8.00pm at least once per week.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the full range of evidence based psychological interventions at Step 2.
* An understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care.
Experience
* Experience of working effectively in a team.
* Evidence of working with adults aged 16 years and over who have experienced a mental health problems.
* Ability to manage own caseload and time.
Skills and personal qualities
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills.
* Ability to be self-reflective, whilst working with service users, in own personal and professional development and in supervision.
