Job Title: Engineering Lead - GTO Engineering

The Engineering Lead oversees a team of DevOps Engineers to develop, manage and continuously improve core platform capabilities for Containers as a Service (CaaS).
In this role you will ensure that the best practices are adhered to and use techniques such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), unit testing, CI/CD and code reviews. This role will support with troubleshooting of complex issues around networking, databases, storage, serverless components and cloud VMs.
About the role
* Define and implement container-based services including registry and image management, security, and operational container platforms.
* Deploy and manage container orchestration platforms using Kubernetes/K8S or services such as Azure AKS.
* Use Infrastructure as Code including Terraform.
* Run unit tests against newly created Infrastructure.
* Produce consistent and reliable infrastructure for all environments.
* Perform Azure networking, security, load balancing, databases, storage, server and serverless technologies.
* Work closely with Development and App Support teams.
* Work closely with Group teams including Cloud Platform (Azure), networking, security and VMware.
About you
* Experience in implementing and operating container platforms and services in a controlled environment at scale, defining and implementing container orchestration services (E.g Kubernetes/K8S, VMware Tanzu or Openshift).
* Experience in Terraform; able to create reusable modules, that is scalable and easily maintainable.
* Experience in Azure cloud, good understanding of virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, and Azure policy. Good understanding of Azure cloud and Azure Function Apps.
* Experience of creating cloud images using Packer or similar tools. Good understanding of infrastructure redundancy, scalability, and cost optimisation.
* Experience of using Git source control, CI/CD processes, YAML builds, Azure cloud scale set build servers.
* Experience of infrastructure monitoring and alert management.
* Strong troubleshooting skills around Azure networking, storage, databases, security, and cloud resources.
* Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration and effective engagement with stakeholders within RL and external third parties.
