HV Technician
Location: Central Scotland (with travel across the UK)
Toro Recruitment is seeking a HV Technician within the renewable energy sector. This role is ideal for a technician with experience in High Voltage (HV) systems, whether from the HV contracting industry or the wind farm industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform inspections and maintenance of HV/LV substation equipment under maintenance agreements.
2. Carry out HV/LV cable jointing, including specialist terminations.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve faults within electrical systems.
4. Install switchgear, transformers, and related equipment.
5. Conduct earthing tests and associated electrical testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Emergency First Aid and Manual Handling certifications.
2. Full, clean UK driving licence.
3. Ability to complete Global Wind Organisation (GWO) training and offshore medical requirements.
4. Strong IT skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
5. Knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation and CDM regulations.
Desirable:
1. Current HV Authorisation (Technician or Jointer/Fitter level) for 11kV and 33kV networks.
2. CSCS/ECS Card and City & Guilds Inspection and Testing qualification.
3. MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform) and PASMA (Scaffolding) certifications.
4. ONC/BTEC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
