Job Summary:
The Sustainability Manager is responsible for providing the project with specialist support, and proactively driving the outcomes of achieving Net Zero carbon emissions and BREEAM certifications for the project.
The person will also be responsible for working collaboratively with the Environmental Lead, Environmental and Sustainability Managers, designers, consultants, the construction team, and other stakeholders to create and develop the culture and behaviours to meet the client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update the carbon management plan for the project in accordance with the client requirements and parent company standards.
Work collaboratively with the design team to update the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) every 6 months and ensure a final 'as-built’ LCA shall be conducted at the end of construction. To ensure the final LCA is completed EPDs will need to be fed into the design team to update the LCA appropriately.
Continue to develop the strategy for net zero on the project and work with other stakeholders to identify and develop opportunities for further carbon reductions towards a net zero strategy.
Work collaboratively with design and construction teams to identify risk and opportunities and ensure these are tracked and updated though the use of an opportunities matrix and the project risk register.
