Affinity Water has a fantastic opportunity available to join our Enforcement Team as an Illegal Connections Investigator on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
We are seeking a dedicated Illegal Connections Investigator to support our Enforcement Manager in ensuring compliance with water industry regulations. As part of the enforcement team, you will play a key role in investigating potential violations, gathering evidence, and collaborating with stakeholders to uphold water quality and industry standards.

This team will be committed to ensuring that we prevent misuse, waste, undue consumption, and erroneous measurement of water and, most importantly, prevent any risk of contamination to our drinking water supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct investigations and inspections into water industry violations and breaches of regulatory standards.
* Gather, assess, and document evidence to support enforcement actions, including witness statements, photographic records, and handling of evidence.
* Ensure investigations comply with the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) and the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act (CPIA).
* Compile evidential files to a high standard for use in legal proceedings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory and procedural requirements.
* Conduct interviews with witnesses and suspects in accordance with PACE guidelines, ensuring best practice interviewing techniques.
* Lead and manage your own caseload, ensuring investigations are progressed efficiently and in line with legal and organisational requirements.
What you need:
* Experience in conducting investigations within an enforcement, regulatory, or law enforcement setting.
* Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that all evidence, reports, and case files are accurate and legally robust.
* Competency in using Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, with strong record-keeping and data management skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.
* Ability to lead and manage your own caseload, ensuring that investigations are conducted efficiently and effectively.
* Full UK Driver's Licence.
