Job Description
The mission is to deliver electrical engineering designs on medium voltage equipment for low to medium complex projects, collaborating with our team in a progressive design-led environment that prioritizes sustainability.
You will work closely with project managers, clients, and other design engineers to manage the production of drawings, prepare documentation for manufacturing, and provide technical support during FAT with the client.
* Determine interface requirements and confirm suitability and conformity to specification.
* Create electrical design schematic diagrams for medium voltage applications, including protection and control devices selection.
* Calculate measuring device requirements (e.g. current and voltage transformers).
* Program protection configuration files for multifunctional protection and control devices (Micom, Sepam, Easergy ranges).
* Provide technical support to project management, manufacturing division, and customers.
* Assist with resolving technical issues during commissioning activities on site.
* Maintain key customer relationships.
* Stay up-to-date with technology and market demands across our equipment, devices, and packages.
* Design project communication architecture and prepare IEC61850 program files.
* Contribute to improving competitiveness, quality, and profitability through technical design and innovation.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the electrical industry and UK standards for medium/low voltage switchgear design and performance.
* Experience programming protection devices with Schneider relays and desired knowledge of automation control interfaces via IEC61850 and Modbus protocol.
* Familiarity with Schneider EcoStruxure platforms.
* Working knowledge of ECAD software (Autocad, EPlan) and ERP systems (SAP).
* Fluency in English (written and verbal) is essential.
* Bachelor's degree, Master's or PhD in power systems or equivalent degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum
