What will you do as a Junior Buyer?
1. Critical Path Management
2. Keeps up to date on trends
3. Reviews last season’s performance and creation of lessons learnt document
4. Undertakes some research through trade shows and some short inspiration trips
5. Support the development of category strategy, specifically by:
1. Supporting development of channel strategy
2. Working with merchandising team to agree a range and price architecture
3. Working with merchandising team to identify season price and promotion plan
4. Working with supply chain team to identify supply chain implications of the new category strategy
6. Range Building
7. Undertakes development trips and support in supplier development meetings (in partnership with the design team)
8. Ensures that any sourcing and supplier packs are in line with category strategy and themes
9. Attends fit sessions and puts forward solutions for any challenges
10. Ensures that samples are received within the critical path
11. Works with suppliers to ensure that all relevant samples are received
12. Conducts range building and range sign off, in line with the critical path ensuring that senior members of the brand team (as well as technical and design teams) have input and visibility of the progress throughout the process
13. Production/Shipping
14. Ensures all POs contain the right information and are raised in line with critical path dates
15. Launch/In Season Trading
16. Work with merchandising to complete end of season review
17. Maximise in season trading through effective OTB management
18. People and Talent Management
19. Plans induction for new employees
20. Coach and develop team members
21. Identify team training needs
Other areas of responsibility
1. Supports brand for all communication channels i.e. Product Surgeries, Press Day, workshops etc.
2. Ensure a safe working environment by complying with Health and Safety Guidelines and take action to deal with any issues
What will you need to succeed as a Junior Buyer?
1. Keen interest in fashion and trends with a proven track record in multi-product Accessories.
2. A confident, ambitious approach is essential along with the commercial experience in order to articulate the Brand DNA in line with our customer profile.
3. A proven track record in developing product
4. Experienced in sourcing from global supply base
5. Proven ability to manage and develop team members to deliver
6. Proven range building experience, delivering over and above sales targets
