Skilled Careers are pleased to announce we have been selected to search for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of an established, but rapidly growing Main Contractor.
Due to an impressive amount of work winning and growth, my client has an exciting opportunity within the Commercial Team.
The Company:
They are an established Main Contractor who are turning over just shy of £100m a year. They have seen a huge amount of growth while still being selective and achieving amazing profit margins year after year. They currently have multiple live projects from £1m up to £30m across a range of sectors in both London and across the South-East.
The Opportunity:
You will be working as the commercial lead on a £15m Residential New Build Project in Reading. You will have support from the Head of Commercial if needed. You will be responsible for managing the project from procurement to a successful completion, while potentially helping a Trainee to develop beneath you on the project.
Role & Responsibility:
* Managing your own £15m Residential New Build Project in Reading.
* Develop and encourage project team performance ensuring that main contractual obligations and strategies are executed and regularly reviewed.
* Complete and submit monthly CVR and progress reports.
* Demonstrate understanding of internal and external tender strategies / build up and work to the profit plan.
* Agree external valuations / cash flow to maximise project value.
* Agree and produce main and subcontract final accounts.
The Person:
Candidate Description:
* Must have 3 to 8 years experience in quantity surveying. This can include contractor, fit-out and/or developer experience (main contractor or developer preferable).
* Able to work under pressure and run your own project.
* Residential experience is ideal but not essential.
* New Build experience is essential.
* Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Commercial Management.
* Strong communication skills, confident in report writing and actively engaging in meetings.
The role is a hybrid role, where you will be based predominantly on the site in Reading but also in the office a couple of times a week which is based in London.
