About the Role
At OUP ELT our content is our unique differentiator – our Managing Editors play a critical role in delivering world renowned content, challenging the conventional and pioneering the possible.
Responsible for:
1. Leading the development of pedagogically effective content for Products within a sector, tailored to customer needs across delivery modes (print, digital, blended etc.), to time and budget, that deliver outstanding commercial outcomes.
2. Leading, managing and developing a team of content development Editors, and / or other internal / external specialists, to ensure performance is effectively managed and individuals are achieving their best potential. Alternatively, leading large, complex and strategic projects, ensuring delivery to plan.
3. Working flexibly and collaboratively across ELT to research, plan, commission and manage Products successfully through the product development process - delivering innovative and exciting outcomes to advance knowledge and learning.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
4. Substantial experience in developing multi-modal teaching and learning content, editorial experience in educational publishing and in managing authors / writers
5. Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills
6. Understanding of educational teaching and learning requirements
7. Adaptable to a changing work environment and global market
8. Has an innovative and open mindset
9. First-hand experience of teaching, ideally in an ELT environment is desirable
Please note that this is a 6 month fixed term role covering maternity leave, with the possibility of an extension. As an internal candidate, when applying for a secondment, you must discuss the opportunity and gain approval with your line manager/department in advance of submitting an application.
