Job summary To work as part of the administration team providing comprehensive administration/reception services and ensuring the smooth running of the reception area. To work flexibly and provide administration support and assistance to other departments including the ward as and when required, and across local cluster hospitals in urgent situations at the direction of the Matron, Senior Sister, and Team Leader. This is a development post into a band 3 Hospital Administrator role. There will be a training schedule in place to facilitate this with regular reviews. Please note that our front of house roles are currently going through a consultation to propose new shift patterns and to include covering Minehead hospital where needed. Main duties of the job To work as part of the administration team providing comprehensive administration/reception services including phone duties, data input, scanning, manage and receive telephone calls and messages, always ensuring effective communication and courtesy, supporting the multi professional team members with administrative tasks and generally assisting in the coordination of the smooth running of the reception. To have the ability to defuse challenging situations in a calm manner. To report incidents to Senior Sister/ Admin Team Leader and assist in completion of incident forms, inputting onto computerised system and taking subsequent actions as required. To ensure all faults of equipment are reported and dealt with in a timely effective manner using our in house fault reporting system. To cover administrative duties on the ward every 3rd Saturday of our 3 week roster and also when required in periods of annual leave and sickness.
