Dayshift Supervisor – £36,502.00 + 18% shift allowance (total salary - £43,072.36)
Newly Weds® Foods Ltd is looking to recruit a Supervisor Production Operative in our Gluten Free Blend Department on our 24/7 continental Day Shift. The successful candidate will be expected to work as a Supervisor Production Operative but also to assume overall responsibility for the shift in the absence of the GF Blend Manager. You will be expected to adhere to our policies and procedures particularly in relation to food safety, health and safety and human resources.

The Banbury site has been part of the Newly Weds Foods family since 2010. During that time our employee team has grown, and we now employ over 250 people. We have a Bakery, Blend factory and a dedicated Gluten Free factory. We operate over a range of shifts in our production facilities, have on site services including a QA team, Engineers, Supply Chain, Logistics, Payroll and HR and we also have a dedicated on-site R&D team.
Job Summary:
To assist the Gluten Free Shift Manager by co-ordinating and supervising the department, ensuring that all plant and equipment are safely run to their optimum level, producing quality products, in line with Master Production Schedule expectations and manufacturing targets. Ensure that all personnel within the department are fully trained and adhere to all company policies and procedures at all times.
This is a working Supervisor position so will be done alongside of working within the GF Blend manufacturing.
Prime Responsibilities
Labour:
* Manage and co-ordinate holidays to enable Gluten Free Blend Manager to resource shifts effectively.
* Manage sickness and absence, conducting disciplinary procedures when required, in line with company policy.
* Responsible for ensuring that correct manning is available in order to run the shift effectively in line with Master Production Schedule, liaising with recruitment agency partners where appropriate
* Co-ordinate all shift personnel and ensure they carry out their responsibilities in line with Newly Weds Foods health and safety and hygiene standards.
* Responsible for ensuring that all Operatives and Temporary Staff are adequately trained on plant, machinery, systems, procedures, personnel and health and safety practices and records are maintained.
* Conduct Annual Personal Development Reviews to review performance and identify training requirements.
* Manage the performance of Operatives and carry out disciplinary actions in line with Newly Weds Foods HR policy when required
Quality:
* Co-ordinate activities to ensure the quality of product is maintained at all times ensuring Corporate Quality Standards are adhered to at all times
* Ensure all manufacturing documentation is completed in an orderly, professional, timely manner and submitted to the Gluten Free Blend Manager for verification
* Report and follow up to timely conclusion any technical or quality issues within the department to the Gluten Free Blend Manager
* Effectively manage corrective actions as identified through Production Non Conformances and Customer Complaints through to satisfactory conclusion
* Develop and maintain the Standard Operating Procedures for the Blending Department
Performance:
* Co-ordinate activities to ensure production volumes and target dates are achieved in line with the Master Production Schedule ensuring Corporate Manufacturing Standards are adhered to
* Liaise and with Shift Engineers to ensure that maintenance activities are prioritised and carried out with a minimum amount of downtime to production
Sanitation:
· Co-ordinate activities to ensure weekly deep clean schedules are carried out efficiently and effectively in line with Corporate Sanitation Standards
IT Systems:
· Report all IT Systems issues via the IT Helpdesk, ensuring priority issues are managed effectively and efficiently to minimise impact on Manufacturing
· Manage “Out Of Hours” IT Systems issues as identified in the “IT Out Of Hours Procedures” document through to resolution
· Report all other “Out Of Hours” IT Systems issues via the helpdesk only using the Out Of Hours telephone number for “ Business Critical ” issues
Health and Safety:
· Provide active leadership to drive a safety compliant culture.
· Ensure that all risk assessments are identified and reviewed at the specified interval for the shift.
· Ensure that all staff are trained and are compliant to all risk assessments, and standard operating procedures.
· Actively contribute and deliver for your area all Corporate and Site safety initiates, policies and objectives.
Other:
· To assume overall responsibility for the shift in the absence of the Gluten Free Shift Manager
· To be available for Newly Weds Foods stock takes
· Any other duties as required

Working hours / pattern – 12-hour rotational day shift (the working hours are 7am to 7pm and during the first week you would be working Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the second week you would be working Wednesday and Thursday, and so on)
