Title: Security Engineer
The context:
Thales is deploying global Data Labelling, Data Loss Prevention, Content Management and Encryption solutions, and requires a security engineer to configure, monitor and integrate into the global enterprise Thales infrastructure.
The person:
A technical expert who has experience of deploying and configuring toolsets across complex enterprise environments.
The specialisms:
1. Configure the Microsoft Cloud/Thales hybrid infrastructure to enable the primary features of Microsoft compliance and governance capability, taking into account Cloud and on-prem concerns.
2. Deploy and configure on premises data labelling toolsets.
3. Integrate with Thales identity systems and configuring group policies.
4. Take into account both civil and defence requirements globally, across all enterprises.
5. Configure the solution to integrate into collaboration tools.
6. Implement solutions to enable integration of secondary tooling, such as Splunk, PowerBI, Microsoft Teams, Sentinel etc.
Other requirements:
1. Ideally, experience with Microsoft Cloud.
2. Good understanding of cyber threats and mitigations.
3. Good understanding of sovereign/defence requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Implementing policies into Microsoft Cloud, and Thales infrastructure under guidance of the relevant CISO.
2. Reviewing Microsoft performance and alerting, producing relevant security and compliance reports.
3. Support the Product Owner(s) in building and executing the (technical) backlog.
4. Advising and supporting other squads in the organization.
Other skills:
1. Data analytical skills, ability to produce reports and explain.
2. Ideally experience with Microsoft Office.
3. Willingness to work in a global team, across different cultures and have flexible working practices.
4. Ability to work with other teams, and manages self and continually strive to improve.
This role would join the global data security squad, which is based in Europe and predominately English speaking, so willingness to work in European time zone would be advantageous.
In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
