Band 7 Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist
A Band 7 Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) plays a key role in the assessment, management, and support of patients with urological conditions, including prostate cancer. They provide expert care, patient education, and lead service improvements. A crucial part of their role includes performing or assisting with Local Anaesthetic Transperineal Prostate Biopsy (LATP), a safer and more accurate method for prostate cancer diagnosis. The CNS ensures patients receive holistic, evidence-based care while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance urology services.
Main duties of the job
* Patient Assessment & Care: Managing urological conditions, including prostate cancer, and supporting patients through treatment.
* LATP & Procedures: Assisting with Local Anaesthetic Transperineal Prostate Biopsies (LATP), catheter management, and bladder instillations.
* Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working with consultants and healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans.
* Patient Education: Providing guidance on procedures, treatment options, and self-management.

Experience
* Must have experience working in the NHS as a urology CNS
* Must have at least 1 year experience with LATP
* Must be NMC registered
