About the role
An excellent role has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join our Accounts Payable function of Finance. This is a great opportunity to commence your Finance career in a company which will provide you with the training and guidance needed to ensure your success.
HL operates a centralised finance function which covers all aspects of financial and management accounting along with regulatory reporting, financial forecasting and modelling, tax and investor relations. You will be joining the Accounts Payable function who are responsible for the payment of HL’s third party suppliers and assisting with the group’s cost accounting processes.
What you’ll be doing
* Process and pay HL’s third party suppliers.
* Process and pay colleague’s staff expense claims.
* Assist with the company’s month end financial accounting processes.
* Fulfil and provide deliverables for the group’s external auditors.
* Support and deliver training articles to colleagues with the supplier payment process.
* Assist with the analysis of the company’s payment performance and financial performance.
* Support with the delivery of continuous improvement of Finance systems and processes.
* Ensure process documentation are kept up to date and relevant.
* Ensure risk events are logged and escalated as soon as they are known.
About you
* Have a passion and career aspirations to work within Financial Accounting.
* Looking to or have already started with gaining your accountancy qualification.
* Awareness of the structure and operations of HL is essential and how this translates to the company’s P&L.
* Evidence of being highly numerate, organised and with strong attention to detail is essential.
* Experience of using excel is desirable.
* Inquisitive in nature with a proactive attitude to learning new skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to analyse large sets of data and solve problems.
* Ability to self manage your workload, prioritising your tasks and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
Interview process
This will be a one stage interview process consisting of behavioural, competency based questions and a practical task.
Working Schedule
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team, based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. For this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
