The role
As a Sound Check Support Assistant you will need to utilise your passion, skills and experience of the live music industry to work in partnership with Future Yard CIC to support the delivery of inspiring and engaging Sound Check training and employment programmes to young people and adults that will lead to better outcomes for them by equipping them with the skills, knowledge and behaviours to progress into employment, or further training/education within the live music sector.
You will provide in-class learner and administrative support to the Sound Check Development Coaches in the delivery of venue-based teaching and training sessions, including assisting with lesson preparation and presentation, helping to manage learner attendance and behaviour, safeguarding/pastoral support and general administrative and learning activities support, as required.
You will be required to support the Sound Check delivery partnership team in raising and maintaining a high Quality of Education in alignment with OFSTED Education Inspection Framework and in meeting all contractual and funding requirements for both The Learning Foundry and Future Yard CIC.
You will also need to support continuous improvement that will deliver sustainable, profitable growth of Sound Check which aligns to the values, strategic objectives, goals and aspirations of both The Learning Foundry and Future Yard CIC.

The right fit
1. You must have a passion and experience working within the live music sector.
2. Some experience in at least one of the following areas of the live music industry:
Technical Production
You will have some experience as a live sound engineer at a live music venue, theatre or across festivals and touring events, with an understanding of live show lighting and AV systems.
Event Management
You will have some experience of working in a hands on, live music event delivery role. This may be across event management, artist liaison, tour management, promotion, booking, production management or similar.
Musician
You will be able to play / lead in on stage demonstrations
3. You must have excellent organisational and time management skills in order to meet deadlines and achieve targets. You’ll also need strong IT skills to support with presentations and collating data.
4. You’ll need strong communication skills both written and verbally with a minimum of grade C Mathematics and English or Level 2 Functional Skills.
5. You’ll have relevant teaching qualification e.g., Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or Cert Ed or you’ll be willing to undergo training to achieve a qualification.
6. You will need to be able to work as part of a team as well as independently and under supervision.
7. You need experience working with individuals who are not in employment, education or training and /or delivering training and employability programmes with an understanding and awareness of the challenges individuals may face.
8. You will be required to have an enhanced DBS check.
