However, the production industry is a competitive field so you must be hard working and efficient. The job calls for strong attention to detail and someone who loves order, process and diligence. The Post production assistant will possess good interpersonal and communications skills along with the ability to work effectively with a variety of staff from different disciplines. A good level of IT skills is a must, with a knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects. OVERVIEW The Post production assistants responsibilities focus on ensuring the post-production workflow runs smoothly and efficiently, making them an essential team member. It is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple facets of post-production. You will need to be a brilliant multitasker, super organised, an excellent communicator and have a hands-on can-do attitude. Responsibilities will include: File Management : · Organising, logging, and backing up footage. · Ensuring files are appropriately labelled, stored, and accessible for the rest of the company. · Managing archives of completed projects for future reference. Editing Support : · Preparing timelines by ingesting, syncing, and transcoding footage. · Assisting with rough cuts or assembling edits. · Adding basic edits such as titles, lower-thirds, or transitions for smaller projects and social media content. · Subtitling · Helping select stock, music or sound effects from libraries. · Helping to online projects for delivery. Technical Assistance : · Troubleshooting technical issues related to software or hardware. · Managing software updates and licenses (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud etc.). · Ensuring exports meet client or platform specifications (e.g., formats for YouTube, social media, or internal use). Client Interaction : · Preparing preview links or files for client review. · Incorporating client feedback into edits or relaying detailed notes to the editor. · Managing deliverables and ensuring final assets are handed off correctly. General Office Support : · Running errands, such as collecting hard drives or ensuring equipment is available for team use. · Maintaining a tidy and organised editing and graphics workspace. · Opening and closing of the office.
