Job Description
The Role
1. Contribute to a positive living environment to enhance a client’s quality of life
2. Demonstrate and display a good example acting as a role model in line with Home Instead expectations for other staff members of the team
3. Maintain regular communication with management and raise concerns when required
4. To act as a mentor for other staff offering opportunities to allow those staff to shadow and observe the level of high-quality care that is expected
5. Support with on call when required
6. Be responsible for starting new care packages and be a representative for the quality of care provided and address any snagging issues at the outset
7. Introduce new and existing staff to clients and be a point of contact for support
8. Build bonds of trust and form relationships with clients, families, and other staff members
9. Cover visits due to annual leave, sickness, and other emergency requirements
10. Be available on the allocated working day to cover any visits required that may need covering to ensure 100% compliance in service delivery and no missed visits
11. Good work ethic and dedication
12. Ability to maintain professional relationship
13. Deliver companionship, personal care, and home help services as required in line with the Job Description of the Care Professional
Essential criteria
14. Be confident and self-motivated with the ability to build and maintain, strong positive relationships helping to promote the opportunities available at Home Instead.
15. Full flexibility to workdays, evenings, weekends and nights to meet the demands of the business.
16. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly.
17. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
18. 6-month industry knowledge required
19. Willingness to undertake further education and training as required
20. Must have full driving license and means of transport if required within the territory to visit clients.
21. Be organised and flexible to meet the needs of the business.
22. Passionate about delivering high quality customer service in the home care sector.
23. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, replan again, juggling of priorities and unplanned work, and meeting deadlines in a very busy environment.
24. Able to see the big picture whilst processing excellent attention to detail.
25. Able to stay calm under pressure not taking things too personally.
26. Proactive – able to suggest and implement operational improvements.
27. Able to learn from mistakes.
28. Able to work unsupervised and using own initiative yet realising when to raise risks and issues and ask for help from others.
29. Able to work as a trusted team member.
30. Empathetic yet business like in approach to Clients and Care Professionals
31. Good verbal communication skills including excellent telephone manner confident to initiate and able participate in difficult conversations with Care Professionals and clients
32. Good written communication skills and IT literate.
