Led by a clinical board, we have been providing excellent care to patients for more than 25 years, this newly created Head of Urgent Care position is a senior leadership and management role across all aspects of gtd healthcare's Urgent Care Services in Greater Manchester.
The Head of Urgent Care, with support from the gtd clinical leadership and operational teams, will ensure that our urgent care services across the conurbation delivered within hospital settings, community settings and our Digital Clinical Hub are of the highest quality to meet the demands and needs of patients in a complex and rapidly changing healthcare environment.
We are looking for a highly effective and collaborative senior manager that can provide expert knowledge and experience to meet the challenges and demands of a rewarding and innovative Urgent Care Service.
The position has been created in response to growth and organisational change to continue to meet and excel in providing great quality care to our patients.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Urgent Care carries delegated responsibility for operational performance of gtd healthcare urgent care services in Greater Manchester and the clinical hub, and with leading the development and delivery of our ambitious transformation programme in urgent care.
The post holder will be the lead senior officer working with the Transformation Office and other colleagues to grow our urgent care portfolio, in Greater Manchester and more widely in the future.
Ensure contracted performance and quality standards are delivered across all gtd healthcare urgent care services within Greater Manchester and elsewhere, within scope of the job role.
Lead innovation and service development across gtd urgent care services in Greater Manchester, and beyond where appropriate, continually improve clinical quality and safety, patient experience, efficiency and performance.
Work closely, collaboratively and productively with all the wider gtd healthcare senior operational leaders, in particular the Head of Urgent care Lancashire, to ensure;
1. consistent values led leadership behaviours are always exhibited
2. consistent outcomes are achieved across urgent care services
3. best practice is spread
4. operational leadership support and resilience is provided
5. collective capability is exploited

Key duties and responsibilities include:
1. Ensure contracted performance and quality standards are delivered across all gtd healthcare urgent care services within Greater Manchester and elsewhere, within scope of the job role.
2. Work with the clinical leadership teams within gtd to ensure there is continual development of skills to deliver safe and effective care.
3. Provide visible and credible leadership to in-scope services.
4. Ensure urgent care services within the roles responsibility are maximizing income and operating within the financial resources available.
5. Ensure all gtd healthcare services within the remit of the role comply with regulatory standards.
6. Work closely and collaboratively with all central teams to ensure gtd policies and procedures are compliant with national legislation and our NHS contracts.
7. Ensure compliance with gtd healthcare policies by all gtd staff working in our urgent care services.
8. Develop and maintain highly effective and visible relationships with commissioning colleagues and other stakeholder partners.
9. Work closely with colleagues from the Greater Manchester Urgent Primary Care Alliance to ensure gtd healthcare are contributing effectively to the delivery of our collective shared services across Greater Manchester.
10. Act as the CQC registered manager for urgent care services within the postholder's portfolio.
11. Be the responsible senior manager for ensuring gtd healthcare's occupied premises for delivering urgent care services within the scope of the role, are fit for purpose, and meet both health and safety and CQC standards.
12. Lead innovation and service development across gtd urgent care services in Greater Manchester, and beyond where appropriate, continually improve clinical quality and safety, patient experience, efficiency and performance.
13. Attendance at relevant commissioner urgent care boards (or equivalent) and other related system groups, in agreement with the Chief Operating Officer and other colleagues.
14. Lead gtd officer at commissioner contract and performance meetings for services within scope of the role.
15. Embrace the ethos of gtd, ensuring our core values are reflected in all aspects of business interactions.
16. Work as part of the gtd healthcare senior manager on-call rota.
17. Be able to travel extensively in order to provide effective leadership through gaining a deep understanding of services, being highly visible to staff, and developing credibility across all stakeholders.

1. Experience of working in an urgent care service environment.

5. Experience of staff management and implementation of HR functions.
6. Experience of maximising people performance.
