Job Description:
As the Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the continuous upkeep, maintenance, and smooth operation of our manufacturing site, including electrical systems, equipment servicing, and the overall condition of the site grounds. You will play a key role in ensuring that the factory operates efficiently, safely, and without interruption, while adhering to all health and safety regulations and ensuring work is conducted in compliance with safe systems of work.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Daily Functions: Assist with tasks such as moving furniture, painting, and other facility-related duties to support the smooth functioning of daily operations.
2. Electrical Servicing: Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including machinery, lighting, and power distribution to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, ensuring all machinery and tools are operating efficiently and safely (PAT testing).
4. Site Maintenance: Take ownership of the day-to-day upkeep of the factory, including grounds, buildings, and facilities. This may involve gardening, weed or pest control, and general grounds keeping to maintain a pristine and safe environment.
5. Health & Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies and conducting regular site inspections to identify and resolve any hazards.
6. Project Management: Manage and support site improvement projects, including infrastructure upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives, and new equipment installations.
7. Contractor Liaison: Oversee external contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within budget.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, electrical works, and site inspections.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Proven experience as a Site Services Engineer or Electrical Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
2. Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment maintenance.
3. Relevant electrical qualification.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and under pressure.
5. Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
6. Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
