As part of our expansion plans, we are seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join our team at our national manufacturing facility in Kenfig.
Job Summary
We are seeking 2 x highly skilled Architectural Technicians to join our dynamic team. You will play a key role in developing technical designs, coordinating design activities across RIBA stages 0-7, and preparing detailed drawings and schedules for manufacturing and construction. You will also be responsible for processing design amendments, managing contract variations, submitting building control applications, and handling the discharge of design-related planning conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Design: Lead the development of technical designs, ensuring compliance with regulations and client expectations.
2. Design Coordination: Work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and consultants to integrate and develop design proposals from RIBA.
3. Design Documentation: Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules for project materials and components.
4. Planning Applications & Building Control: Ensure timely submission and compliance with all necessary regulations.
5. BIM & Revit Library Development: Participate in BIM-driven projects and contribute to the enhancement of the company’s Revit library.
6. Sustainability & Compliance: Implement BREEAM/DREEAM standards and ensure alignment with current building regulations.
7. Site Attendance: Support project delivery through site visits and internal/external meetings.
8. Quality Assurance & Technical Support: Provide guidance throughout project development, ensuring high-quality technical documentation and adherence to industry best practices.
9. Workload Management & Personal Development: Maintain project planners, attend workload review meetings, and pursue continuous professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
2. Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, RIBA Plan of Work, building regulations, and construction practices
3. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Twinmotion, and BIM software
4. Familiarity with BREEAM standards and sustainability best practices
5. Strong understanding of building systems, construction techniques, and materials
6. Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
8. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy
9. Commercial awareness and understanding of project budgets
