We are currently recruiting a Transport Manager for our site in Perth to effectively manage the staff and functions of the Transport Department in a way that satisfies both Customer and Company, fulfills the Customer Commitment and achieves targets.
Key Tasks
* To ensure that all commercial vehicles are maintained and serviced in accordance with FTA regulations, current legislation, and to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
* To ensure that the Route man’s message pad procedure is operated and maintained to customer service satisfaction levels.
* To actively encourage Route man to enter into the spirit of all campaigns to achieve added value service sales.
* To ensure each day’s items are loaded/unloaded from the vehicles and delivered and returned to customers according to the agreement.
* To ensure that the requirements of the Operator’s Licence are adhered to at all times.
* To establish and maintain good customer relations and act as liaison between Customer and Company.
* To fully utilise the AS400 computer system, as appropriate.
* To recruit drivers in consultation with the General Manager.
* To provide ongoing training for all drivers from the start of service and throughout their employment and regularly review their training and development.
* To forward queries to the relevant department and ensure managers, supervisors, and colleagues are informed as necessary.
* To keep all costs to or below budget.
* To maintain accurate records where required.
* To wear and use Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks.
* To carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
* To comply with Company Policies and the Terms and Conditions of Employment and follow company procedures.
* To keep work area clean, tidy, safe, and secure at all times.
* To attend training courses as required.
* To foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company.
* To maintain confidentiality of Company business.
* Other ad hoc duties as required.
