Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Advisor Spalding, United Kingdom – Full time role based on site with occasional travel The Role Are you an experienced HSSE professional looking for your next challenge? You will be responsible for ensuring that the Spalding plant is kept accountable and complies with InterGen's HSSE Policy. This includes ensuring the HSSE management systems are updated, ensuring good environmental stewardship, fostering a Security Culture and that site procedures are adhered to alongside promoting and maintaining a safety culture that is committed to continuous improvement. Ensure a system is in place to identify legislative changes, support the update of company policies and procedures and ensure a system is in place to communicate changes to employees. Be the focal point for, and communicate effectively with, all legislative bodies including local authorities, the Environment Agency and the Health and Safety Executive, with the support of Plant Management staff. Liaise with the HSSE Regional Manager, to ensure that the company and Plant HSSE KPIs are achieved, and the Plant remains compliant, and all employees maintain their highest level of HSSE competence. Collate, collect and analyse incident and near miss reports and records; prepare reports and communicate findings. Specifically enter data into our incident reporting tool and ensure actions are tracked to completion. Undertake and support incident investigations and RCA investigations on site and share lessons learned and ensure procedures are updated. Monitor and provide reports on key metrics such as safety statistics and environmental performance; and identify any continuous improvement opportunities Audit and test site emergency preparedness with drills and exercises to test response. Why you? Our ideal HSSE Advisor must have a strong background in health and safety and Environmental legislation and regulations and be able to offer guidance within power generation. You will be expected to have knowledge of relevant standards and integrated management systems, you will work collaboratively with others within the HSSE team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes that will enhance our safety and environmental performance. You will be a highly motivated individual with a passion for acting as a site champion for HSSE initiatives and our “Safety at Heart” value. Qualifications /Experience NEBOSH Certificate / Diploma or equivalent – Desirable but not essential if strong experience can be demonstrated.
