A primary school in Rochdale has reached out to Teaching Personnel in search of a caring, proactive, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
About the Role:
As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of children in their first year of Key Stage 2. Your responsibilities will include providing one-on-one support for pupils, assisting with small group activities, and helping to create a stimulating learning environment. You will play a key role in helping children settle into their school routine and develop the essential skills they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Year 5 teacher with planning, delivering, and assessing lessons.
* Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning and provide targeted support.
* Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
* Support children with a variety of learning needs, including those with additional needs or English as an additional language.
* Aid in classroom management to ensure a positive learning atmosphere.
* Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support the overall development of the class.
About You:
* Experience working with young children, ideally in a primary school setting.
* A positive, proactive attitude with a passion for helping children succeed.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and well-being.
* A dedication to creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for all students.
* A Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
