Role Purpose
Providing technical advice and support to all existing operations and guidance to all Aviation management and Aviation fueling operations in Europe.
Main Accountabilities
1. Support operations with technical expertise guidance on equipment and storage facilities, through a life-cycle management approach, from design through maintenance and refurbishment till disposal.
2. Set the standard for into-plane and storage equipment design & maintenance, releasing specifications, bulletins, and procedures to comply with the highest industry standards and practices.
3. Conduct internal audits, JIG and integrity audits, and issue recommendations for all technical methods and procedures. Support external audits with preparation and managing the remedial actions definition and execution.
4. Support Business Development with technical input on tenders and acquisitions, technical assessments, and evaluations of investments and costs.
5. Provide support and share knowledge and learning to maintain compliance to Industry (JIG) and customers standards.
6. Coordinate, train, and guide maintenance staff at the airports.
7. Support Ops Manager with maintenance costs evaluation and control and propose initiatives for cost saving.
8. Design and deliver technical training programmes.
9. Define requirements for the into-plane fleet with regular updates on vehicles requirements and 3-year plans.
10. Implement and update the maintenance manual for storage and into-plane operations.
11. Liaise with airline, airport, and oil company representatives and external agencies to support the company in technical discussions.
12. Review and release all maintenance forms in line with industry standards.
13. Set and implement standards across the Fuels division, encompassing operations and training.
14. Explore and promote the introduction of technological innovation within Fuels operations.
15. Liaise and deal with suppliers and contractors for the provision of equipment.
16. Define and share best practices and learnings for the efficient use of the equipment.
17. Review and make recommendations for all technical practices and procedures.
18. Support the publication of training material for technical tasks and assist with technical training as required.
19. Create and update specifications for new fueling vehicles and other fueling equipment as required.
20. Lead and provide technical expertise to tender processes for asset purchase and new operations start-up.
21. Development and ownership of a plan for leasing or acquisition of into-plane trucks.
22. Negotiate and procure all supplier/fuel-related parts (into-plane and storage equipment).
23. Support the negotiation and definition of maintenance contracts and equipment purchase.
24. Keep track and monitor the assets operated and owned.
25. Implement and maintain a fleet management system and provide reports on vehicle usage and cost.
26. Support data collection on equipment maintenance and efficient use and KPIs building.
27. Manage trials for any new equipment/equipment parts.
28. Provide technical and engineering support for Fuel Facilities, both current and proposed business.
29. Liaise and manage external engineering contractors for design and refurbishment of Fuel Facilities.
30. Provide technical and engineering support to the Fuel Management team and local operations in issues with staff, unions, customers, and airports.
31. Support Fuels management team and local operations in the investigation of incidents and identification of causes and remedial actions, with a focus on equipment-related matters.
32. Develop innovation and sustainability plans for the introduction of new technologies.
33. Provide technical legislation support and training.
34. Represent the company on JIG and at various consortium committees as directed.
35. Promote innovation and advanced practices within the industry.
Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
* Strong operational experience, ideally of both pipeline and ‘bridger’ operations, storage, and refueling of aviation fuels.
* Extensive knowledge of aviation fuels-related operations, into plane, and fuel storage facilities.
* Engineering background in fuels related business.
* JIG accredited auditor qualification.
* Excellent understanding of supply and distribution procedures associated with into-plane and tank farm operations.
* Excellent knowledge of business management including HSSE, fuel operations, HR, and finance.
* Experience in a regional or complex fuels aviation operational management position.
* Proven experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships at the senior management level, in particular with business partners, airport authorities, and suppliers.
* Proven extensive experience in team leadership and development.
* Ability to work under pressure and time constraints.
* Ability to prioritise workload in order of urgency and importance.
* Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
* Proficient in all Microsoft applications.
* Project management, ability to prepare terms of reference, scope projects, identify key milestones, and timelines for execution.
