About the role: We are currently seeking an Electrical Lecturer to join our Apprenticeships department at The Bedford College group. As an Electrical Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through: Preparing, delivering, assessing and verifying subject specialisms on a range of courses and levels. Supporting and guiding students to achieve success and realise their potential. Managing students’ learning and providing a high-quality learning experience. Contributing pro-actively to developments in the Centre in curriculum development and innovative teaching. Participating in marketing and promotion activities to support a range of programmes and learning opportunities. Teaching effectively on a range of programmes, levels and qualification types recognising and meeting students’ individual needs. Preparing schemes of work which are up to date and fully meet the requirements of awarding bodies. Researching, developing and effectively implementing new learning materials in a variety of media to engage students in learning. Assessing students’ work effectively to meet awarding body standards and carrying out verification and moderation. Monitoring and recording students’ progress and take action to ensure apprentices meet required standards and deadlines. Carrying out tutorials (both individual and group) to support individual students to realise their potential. Leading curriculum development and organising the contribution of other members of teaching staff as appropriate. Assisting in Course Management duties. Being a designated tutor and provide student support. About you: Have a Level 3 NVQ qualification in Electrical Installation (2357/5357 or equivalent) Have completed AM2/AM2S or equivalent Hold either the Certificate in Education or equivalent or Assessor Award Be willing to achieve Qualifications not held either PGCE, Certed or Assesor award Have GCSE Maths and English grades A-C or equivalent Be willing to achieve IQA award or similar IQA qualification Have either recent experience of working in UK Electrotechnical industry OR recent experience of teaching and assessing on a range of programmes and levels.
