Nelson and Colne College Group is made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning and Accrington & Rossendale College. Our College Group is now the only Further Education college in Lancashire to be graded as ‘Outstanding’ under the new Ofsted inspection framework.
Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, Employer Training and Adult Learning Provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels.

The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Supported Internship Employability Trainer to deliver on a brand new DFN Project SEARCH Supported Internship transition to work programme for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities at ASDA in Colne.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a programme that provides real work experience, combined with training in employability and independent living skills, delivered in a business setting to help young people make successful transitions to productive adult life.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at ASDA in Colne but will be required to travel across sites as needed.
What You Will Be Doing:
• Coordinating the delivery of a Supported Internship programme in partnership with ASDA, DFN Project SEARCH and Lancashire County Council
• Recruit interns to the programme
• Linking with departments within the ASDA store to identify placements
• Delivering sessions on employability skills, literacy and numeracy and developing independent living and work ready behaviours and attitudes
• Working with the Job Coach to coordinate work placement rotations
• Assessing intern progress in a variety of areas to support them to secure paid employment at the end of the programme
What We Are Looking For:
• 4 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths Grade C/4 or above
• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
• A teaching qualification
• Degree level qualification in a relevant subject
• Qualification related to SEND
• Assessor qualification
• Driver’s licence and access to own vehicle for business use
