About the role:
We are looking for a passionate and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) with a specialism in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As an SEN TA, you will be working closely with students across Key Stages 1 and 2, helping them navigate their daily challenges and achieve their academic and personal goals.
You'll be key in fostering a positive, engaging classroom experience and providing 1:1 or small group support for students with SEMH difficulties. This is a long-term, full-time role, offering consistency for the children and a chance for you to truly make a lasting difference.
Application Requirements:
1. Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly SEMH.
2. Strong understanding of SEMH strategies and how to implement them.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Patience, resilience, and a nurturing attitude.
5. Willingness to collaborate with teachers, parents, and outside professionals to support each student's needs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide targeted support to students with SEMH needs in both 1:1 and group settings.
2. Work closely with classroom teachers to implement tailored learning plans.
3. Monitor and track student progress, offering regular feedback to staff and parents.
4. Use a variety of de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviours.
5. Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
