An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our client, a world-leading global aerospace manufacturing organisation in Belfast, as a Machinist. Paying £32,495.32 to £35,367.80 per annum pro rata, working a 36-hour week. Initially, these roles are on a temporary basis but will be reviewed. In recent years, the majority of our temporary workforce have transferred to permanent employment with our client.
Purpose of the Job:
To machine a variety of composite & metallic component parts on a multi-axis CNC machine.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Machine composite & metallic component parts using multi-axis CNC machinery.
2. Assist engineering with part proveouts and machine alignments.
3. Ensure finished work conforms to engineering requirements.
4. Plan the most cost-effective method to produce components to drawing requirements.
5. Perform weekly TPM checks.
6. Set up cutting tools as per CNC program requirements.
7. Set up parts as per EPR requirements on programmable actuators and solid fixtures.
The Successful Candidate:
1. Have served a recognised mechanical apprenticeship and have at least 1 year's relevant post-apprenticeship machining experience within the last 5 years.
2. Have an understanding of CNC programming.
3. Be able to demonstrate the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and other related technical documentation.
4. Be prepared to work a range of shifts.
An understanding of 5-axis machine kinematics would be advantageous. A knowledge of Siemens 840D / Fanuc controllers would be advantageous.
