About the role:
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with expertise in managing challenging behaviours to work with our Reception or Key Stage 1 students. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in helping these students engage with their learning journey, adapting your approach to meet their unique needs and promoting a positive and productive classroom environment. This position is ideal for someone with patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for working with children who may struggle to communicate or manage their emotions effectively.
Application Requirements:
• Relevant experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in an SEN capacity.
• A background in managing challenging behaviours in young children.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• A positive and patient approach to meeting each child’s unique needs.
• Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide targeted support to students with challenging behaviours, helping them achieve emotional and social goals.
• Work closely with classroom teachers to implement tailored strategies that encourage positive behaviour and academic engagement.
• Develop supportive, trusting relationships with students, allowing them to feel safe and understood.
• Assist in delivering personalised interventions, keeping track of student progress and communicating with staff and parents.
• Help facilitate group activities, using techniques to foster inclusivity and cooperation among all students.
