Job Summary: Multi-skilled individual required to thoroughly and accurately complete assigned work in a safe, productive, quality, and accountable manner while ensuring stock accuracy during shifts. This role involves 24/7 working as part of the shift team under Production Management supervision.
Position Overview:
Key responsibilities include reporting discrepancies to line management, learning new skills, maintaining customer focus, and participating in emergency team roles.
Organization:
* Promptly reports to line manager any discrepancies or issues that prevent timely and safe task completion.
* Learns new skills or refreshes existing skills to stay current with the needs of the position and to respond to a changing environment.
* Maintains internal and external customer focus.
* Participates in emergency team role, either as Scribe or trained fire-fighter.
Plant Control:
* Responsible for the G&K Plants, Effluent Treatment Plant, and Bulking & Blending processes.
* Undertakes CDAS monitoring of the Plants.
* Makes adjustments to operating conditions as appropriate to maintain safety operations of the Plants and the quality of the materials.
* Investigates alarms, troubleshoots, and sets corrective actions.
* Responsible for the MPO system, washing material, sampling, and transferring material to the boiler house.
* Responsible for the GWL, HCWL, and AlCl3 upgraded waste systems.
* Analyses and interprets data using various analytical techniques, including wet chemistry techniques (Karl Fischer, Titration) and GLC analysis.
* Undertakes tasks efficiently, including some manual handling, in accordance with relevant Procedures, Work and Operating Instructions.
* Works to specified Safety/Housekeeping standards, particularly regarding the wearing of PPE.
Documentation and SAP:
* Accurately performs detailed SAP transactions.
* Books material movements and batches in SAP.
* Is trained in dangerous goods awareness (tanker loaders, Sea & Road).
* Issues relevant paperwork for loading/unloading of tankers.
* Records analytical data into the Database.
Material Handling:
* Runs materials through Filling Lines into drums and IBCs, including correct labelling.
* Collects and charges correct material into specified bulk tanks from listed bulk sheets.
* Washes/cleans units for change of products.
* Handles forklift truck movement of materials.
* Loads/unloads tankers.
* Samples and labels finished products and raw materials.
Required Skills:
* IT literate, including knowledge of Office-based systems.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in Chemical Production.
* Experience with Process Safety Management Systems.
* Experience in analysis and the ability to interpret data using various analytical techniques, including wet chemistry and GLC analysis.
Preferred Skills:
* HNC or above in Chemistry, Process Chemistry, or engineering discipline.
* Forklift truck licensed.
* Good computer skills, including knowledge of SAP.
* Chemical processing background.
Required Experience:
* 3 years in Chemical Processing plants.
