About the Role
Renowned for our expertise in fine art, antiques, motor cars, and jewellery, we are currently seeking a talented Senior Photographer to join our studio based in New Bond Street, London. As a Senior Photographer at Bonhams, you will report to the Photography Production Manager, to capture images for our catalogues, advertising materials, and website. Your responsibilities will include studio and on-site photography, post-production, file management, and uploading images to our database. Additionally, you will manage photo lists, liaise with art handlers, meet deadlines consistently, and be prepared to travel as needed.
In your role as Senior Photographer, you will:
Key responsibilities:
1. Execute and oversee photography sessions for a wide range of items, including fine art, antiques, and luxury goods.
2. Collaborate with internal teams to understand project requirements and produce visually stunning, market-ready imagery.
3. Manage end-to-end photography processes, including set-up, shooting, post-production, and delivery.
4. Maintain consistency across all visual assets, ensuring alignment with Bonhams' brand identity.
5. Mentor and provide guidance to junior photographers, helping them develop their skills.
6. Stay current on industry trends and continuously innovate Bonhams' approach to photography.
Administrative duties:
7. Process and manage files efficiently
8. Upload files to our company database
9. Create and update photo lists as needed
Key Skills and Experience
10. Minimum of years of professional studio experience
11. Familiarity with both Canon and Hasselblad systems
12. Proficiency in photographing a diverse range of property, including D and D artworks
13. Knowledgeable about studio lighting techniques and catalogue photography
14. Experience using Capture One, Phocus, and Adobe Photoshop
15. Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach
16. Passion for photography and a dedication to staying updated with industry trends
17. Comfortable working with Mac platforms and skilled in file management systems
18. Strong multitasking abilities with meticulous attention to detail
19. Excellent prioritisation skills to consistently meet deadlines
20. Physical capability to lift up to Kgs and engage in physical tasks throughout the workday
