Senior Recovery Navigator - Ongoing contract (March 2025 with the possibility of extension)
Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm (dependant on business needs some evening work may be required to support our service users, time can be taken back in TOIL)
Applicants MUST hold a full UK Driving licence to apply for this position as you will be required to travel to rural parts of Dorset.
We currently have a new and exciting opportunity to join our Dorset substance misuse service, REACH, in our Safeguarding Families Together team.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to make a real difference, as you will not only be providing valuable support to adults with substance misuse related problems, but also providing support and improving outcomes for their families and loved ones.
As a Senior Recovery Worker with our Safeguarding Families Together team, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support parents and carers to keep their children safely at home by supporting them with their recovery.
You will be responsible for a caseload of clients and their families, the clients that you work with can be anyone at any stage of their recovery with a spectrum of needs and related risks.
This position will be based from Dorchester, County Hall, supporting service users across Dorchester and West Dorset. There may be an occasional need to provide some support across the wider county.
As a Senior Recovery Worker, your duties will include:
* Carrying out home visits across the REACH service area in Dorset
* Providing screening and needle exchange services
* Provide consultations to children’s services, including Early Help and the Specialist Family Worker team.
* Working with partner organisations such as Health, Social Care and Police and other adult practitioners to respond to changing local issues.
* Attending MDT meetings and supervisions to review cases and share learning
* Utilising both strengths based and trauma informed approaches, engaging clients with both 1:1 and group support
* Proactively identifying and reporting concerns in relation to safeguarding adult and children
* Providing reports to inform National Drug Treatment Monitoring Systems & the continuous improvement of the services offered by the Safeguarding Families Team.
About the Safeguarding Families Together (SFT) Team:
The Safeguarding Families Together Team aims to keep the highest risk children and families in Dorset together safely, improve health and educational outcomes for the children and reduce physical and emotional harm in families.
You will be working in a co-located environment, as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside Social Care practitioners and adult specialists. As part of the team, you will work with parents in relation to domestic abuse, mental health and substance misuse.
These teams will work together to support families to keep together where it is safe to do so.
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals to make positive change. Ideally, you will have experience working in a substance misuse setting or working with children that may be subject to Child Protection or Child in Need plans.
In addition, you will also:
* Have an understanding and knowledge of substance misuse, including the treatment and interventions available.
* Have experience managing a busy caseload, with excellent organisational skills.
* Have experience contributing to group supervisions, team meetings and case conferences
* Knowledge and understanding of policies related to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults
* Work well in partnership with colleagues and other organisations to help improve outcomes for our clients.
* Social Care qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
