Job summary An opportunity has arisen for an individual who is motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and passionate about service user centred care to join the Newport Older Adult Community Mental Health Team to provide support for people experiencing mental health issues. The successful candidates will be employed by the ABUHB Older Adult Mental Health Directorate.The Support Engagement and Recovery (SEaR) worker will be based at St Cadocs Hospital.This is an unique opportunity to gain experience and skills in a variety of clinical settings. You will need to be a team player, but have the confidence and experience to work autonomously under challenging conditions. We are looking for candidates that are able to meet the needs of this post.You will be a highly motivated with excellent communication skills and have an ability to work under pressure. Excellent interpersonal skills required along with good time management skills and awareness of risks within mental health. You will also have a willingness to learn and develop within the role and have the ability to maintain confidential service user information with discretion. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job The SEaR worker will be part of a team providing mental health services to community-based service users. The focus is on supporting individuals with complex needs to live independently and maintain their community networks. It will include: Supporting a caseload of clients, helping them access appropriate services. Developing and implementing personalized care plans. Monitoring clients' mental health and report concerns. Assist with therapeutic activities and medication management. Promote social inclusion and independent living.
