Purpose As a Scrum Master you are accountable for the Squad’s effectiveness, including how it interoperates with stakeholders, the portfolio and other teams. You are responsible for removing impediments enabling the Squad to improve their ways of working and increase then maintain their ability to delivery quality outcomes. Responsibilities Ensure that Agile events are positive, productive, and timeboxed Encourage the Squads understanding of the Agile framework and enable them to improve their practices Help the team focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done Coach the Squad to self-manage and use data to support continuous improvement in delivering change and value safely Liaise with Chapter Leads for individual development where appropriate Facilitate impediment resolution Manage and track impediments, risks and dependencies Facilitate stakeholder collaboration as requested or needed Remove barriers between stakeholders and Squads Help find techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management Help the Squad understand the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items Actively participate, share ideas, and drive improvement in the Scrum Master Chapter Lead, train, and coach the organisation in its Agile adoption Present on progress of sprint and quarter in terms of performance and flow metrics Qualifications Recognised Professional Scrum Master qualification desirable Practical experience working with a software engineering team About You Skills Highly motivated self-starter, comfortable offering mentorship, coaching, and leadership both individually and at squad levels. Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master using Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban Use of PowerBI / ADO / Jira work management or similar tools to support agile ways of working Experience of collecting and using data to drive team improvement Confident delivering formal and informal training A flexible, resilient facilitator, able to explain why Able to facilitate sessions to help the team break down complex solutions into smaller, achievable chunks of work Adept at influencing behaviour cross-team and cross-discipline without having formal organisational hierarchy Listens to the team and empowers them to tackle challenges Other relevant information This role reports to the Agile Delivery Lead.
