Animal Care Support Technician
Job type: Full time, Permanent.
Salary: Up to £23,962 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week (+ 5 hours paid lunch)

Join us at our Sheffield Education Centre, where you will support the Animal Care curriculum area by maintaining our Animal unit, which includes a variety of small animals, and supporting our learners in completing practical tasks.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Completing daily animal husbandry duties, including provision of food and water, changing cages, and maintaining high levels of hygiene for each animal, with support from our L1 and L2 learners.
* Carrying out regular observations and health checks with support from our L1 and L2 learners.
* Supporting and observing L1 and L2 learners to complete practical tasks vital for their studies and completion of their qualifications.
* Maintaining colonies of mammals and fish to required standards.
* Keeping accurate records and inputting data onto computer systems, gathering and collating data and information including monitoring the health and welfare of animals under your care for evaluation and decision making.
* Having experience in husbandry with rodents, rabbits, fish, and insects.
Qualifications required:
* Animal care L2 or above
* 5 GCSE’s grades A*-C including English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent.
A DBS check will be required for this role.
