Desirable qualifications:
* Paediatric first aid Certification
* Level 2 Gymnastics qualification - IGA, BG or GCS
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
The Head Coach will play a pivotal role in shaping a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for both the coaching team and gymnasts. This individual will oversee the smooth operation of coaching sessions while ensuring high standards of communication, leadership, and personal development.
Main Duties:
* Actively oversee and participate in every session to ensure quality coaching standards and athlete development.
* Build positive, motivational relationships with all coaches and gymnasts, fostering an open and encouraging communication culture.
* Coach small groups of gymnasts effectively, ensuring minimal input while promoting independence and growth.
* Address behavior issues using the EAC guidelines, maintaining a professional and supportive approach.
* Work collaboratively with the coaching team, demonstrating adaptability and a strong ability to lead by example.
* Ensure no gymnast is overlooked, supporting each individual’s needs and progress.
* Clearly explain and describe activities to both coaches and gymnasts, ensuring understanding and alignment with session goals.
* Communicate with families, including regular updates on cancellations, waiting list status, and other important announcements.
* Contact trialist members and ensure a smooth process for them, from initial contact to integration into the program.
The Head Coach will also demonstrate the following skills:
* Plan, adapt, and deliver sessions and activities that are responsive to customer feedback, encouraging the development of a lifelong engagement with physical activity.
* Lead pre-planned sport or physical activity sessions, ensuring they are attractive to the target audience and build motivational relationships with customers.
* Promote physical activity offerings, including but not limited to organized play and sport, supporting individuals in their behavior change journey.
* Facilitate rewarding volunteering opportunities and support customers to co-produce these experiences.
* Engage with families to encourage participation in sport and physical activity together.
* Work effectively with customer insight to address barriers to participation in physical activity and sport, both on an individual and community level.
The Head Coach will be instrumental in ensuring the success of the program by maintaining clear lines of communication and developing a positive, inclusive, and professional coaching environment.
