RSR are currently recruiting for an experienced Trainer to work with a UK-based Police Force on a long-term, full-time contract in Winfrith, Dorset.
The role is paying £17.24 per hour (PAYE) and applicants will be subject to national security police checks.
Job Profile:
To design and deliver training and development interventions in order to ensure that the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviour of police officers, staff, and other members of the force meet the requirements of the force and priorities. These posts will focus on the delivery of initial and a range of force training programmes across defined geographic areas. Posts are based in specified geographic areas across Dorset and Devon and Cornwall.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Co-ordinate, prepare annual training schedules, design, develop, and deliver training and development across a variety of packages, including initial and force training.
2. Ensure the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, and behaviour of officers, staff, PCSO's, Specials, and Volunteers are maintained, and training is up-to-date and relevant.
3. Deliver training packages as a facilitator/lecturer to meet the demands of the force across other areas on occasion.
4. Design and deliver training packages for on and off the job training, including written materials, classroom sessions, and learning exercises, utilising all available technology by adopting innovative and alternative methods of delivery.
5. Test and assess students and deliver any skills coaching or development of students required. Advise staff in training and development issues including internal departmental routes and external qualification routes.
6. Maintain records for lesson plans, courses, correspondence, reference materials, course content, and guest speakers consistent with the departmental requirements.
Essential Experience:
A recognised training/teaching qualification (e.g., Police Trainer Certificate or equivalent City & Guilds Further Adult Education Certificate, Certificate of Education, Certificate in Training Practice or equivalent NVQ level III in Learning and Development) OR similar extensive relevant experience together with a commitment and potential to achieve such a qualification. Must be able to identify training and development needs and design bespoke training and development interventions according to learning methodologies consistent with the Force guidance; in order to support staff to meet individual and organisational objectives.
