We are growing the health economic modelling team at HEOR and looking for health economists to join us! As a health economist you will be responsible for implementing economic models, running analyses and preparing relevant dissemination of materials independently whilst contributing to client proposals.
Role and Responsibilities include:
1. Understand the model development process, including the technical skills of designing and building a health economic model (CEM, BIM, COM, DTM, early models)
2. Review, extract and analyse data to be used to inform economic models (e.g. health care costs, quality-adjusted life-years, productivity losses)
3. Independently develop high-quality and relevant economic models, technical reports and user guides, seeking guidance and support as needed
4. Demonstrate a proactive approach to solving client challenges and research questions whilst critically evaluating value propositions within the context of the evidence base available within a project
5. Implement high quality, relevant models in Excel and VBA and/or R based on agreed concept or protocol
6. Adapt and conduct health economic analysis on global models to inform local HTA dossier development
7. Actively participate in research dissemination including publication and presentation of research.
8. Work collaboratively with the HE team and other business units across HEOR, as well as with clients and external collaborators
9. Understand project briefs, scopes and budgets and identify ambiguity or risks and escalate as appropriate
10. Begin to manage small projects, ensuring detailed knowledge of timelines and project plans
11. Embed HE principles across projects, ensuring deliverables are consistently and clearly communicated
12. Understand the role HEOR plays in providing evidence for the process of pricing, reimbursement, and market access
13. Support proposal development and project pitches as required
Qualifications/Candidate requirements
1. Master's in health economics or alternative quantitative subject (economics, statistics, mathematics, operational research).
2. Experience in developing health economics models in Excel and VBA.
3. Experience in the adaptation and localization of health economics models.
4. Skills in the application of economic and statistical analysis.
5. Understanding of the HEOR/HTA and commercial landscape.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
8. Relevant work experience in consultancy, healthcare, biotechnology, and/or pharmaceutical industry.
