Portfolio Procurement are recruiting for a Head of Procurement for our fantastic Cambridgeshire based client.
The Role:
As the Head of Procurement, you will be managing all procurement activities within my client. You will play a key role in optimising costs and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services and be at the forefront of building and maintaining supplier relationships.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Strategic Procurement
2. Developing and improving the company's procurement strategy
3. Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers
4. Ensuring a seamless supply chain
5. Forecasting and managing demand and inventory
6. Leadership of a team
7. Establish and monitor key KPI's
To be successful in this role you must be/have:
1. Results driven and cost focussed
2. A leader who can offer good direction and lead from the front and by example
3. Experience working with Global Suppliers, including both face to face meetings and over the phone
4. Strong influencing and negotiation skills
5. Prepared to travel internationally
Experience and Skills:
1. Extensive Purchasing and Supply Chain experience, ideally from an Electronics background
2. Team management experience
3. Strong IT Skills
4. Experience/knowledge of overseas CEM'S
5. Ideally MCIPS qualified or a relevant degree
