Introducing our client:
We are seeking a patient, caring Buddy to support our client, who was born in 2007. He loves drama and music and is currently attending sixth form taking drama, film studies, and maths. He likes attending Youth Theatre, had a speaking part on BBC Radio, and hopes to pursue acting as a career.
He lives at home with his family and would like to grow his independence in participating in his interests and hobbies which include going to the gym, cinema, theatre, and music gigs. He has a desire to engage in horse riding, skiing at a snow dome, archery, and pottery. He also has an interest in food and cooking and would like support to cook his favourite dishes which are Italian.
Our client suffered a brain injury at birth and has been diagnosed with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy. He has an electric powered wheelchair for outside use and is independent in controlling this. Our client is profoundly deaf and uses cochlear implants; he uses spoken English to communicate.
Your role will be to provide support for our client with his interests and activities both within the local community in Swindon and further afield in the UK.
