Job description:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our sales department as a Senior Commercial Planning Manager. This is a commercial leadership role, primarily focused on unlocking the identified strategic growth priority of the Convenience channel. This is ideal for someone who is experienced in front line sales/account management (major multiples sales preferred), coupled with strong financial experience and P&L understanding. This position will also oversee direct reports at the commercial planning manager level.
To excel in this role, you'll need to be highly analytical and able to articulate complexity with simplicity. This role requires an individual who is a confident decision maker. We are particularly keen to bring in someone who is resilient. This role would suit somebody who is a strategic thinker with astute commercial awareness.
The role:
You will have accountability across all Grocery and Sweet Treats categories. Your role is instrumental in driving the identified strategic growth priority of the Convenience channel. Your remit is to support the business in achieving its blend of internal and external channel-specific objectives including turnover, profit, innovation, and market share for the Convenience Channel. Strong leadership and influencing skills are required to lead across multiple stakeholders at the senior level. You should be a confident communicator at all levels and a self-starter with strong priority-setting capability.
Key Requirements:
* Responsible for working cross-functionally with all Commercial teams to develop brand and channel strategies to deliver budgeted sales, profit, and NPD targets.
* Develop, agree, and drive execution of promotional strategy and guidelines across all brands for the Convenience channel.
* Improve promotional return on investment for brands category.
* Analyse and review business forecasts and key issues in the business planning process, influencing Customer teams to drive outperformance.
* Design of pack, price, and promotional architecture specific to the Convenience channel.
* Accountable for the commercialisation of Channel relevant NPD including pricing, promotional support, and ensuring execution through the sales team achieving objectives.
* Ensure Sales and Customer strategies are integrated into brand plans by influencing Brand Directors.
* Accountable for creating the sell stories/decks for NPD for the Convenience channel (not writing every page but ensuring it meets the needs of the business).
