We have an exciting new opportunity for a Performance and Development Officer, to support and drive the implementation of our Learning & Development strategy. The P&D Officer will be responsible for providing P&D focused advice and support to managers and employees in line with organisational policies, procedures, and legal requirements. You will be a main point of contact for staff, handling daily queries and escalating to the P&D Manager where necessary. You will work closely with the P&D Manager on, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, leadership training and employee engagement. You will be part of the team who will nurture and develop the skills of our workforce to ensure we meet the talent and capability required both now and for our future growth. You will be vital to shaping the Performance and Development function as the organisation continues to grow and will be a key driver in the development and delivery of a value-added Performance and Development Strategy. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Performance & Development Support the development and implementation of a Performance and Development strategy for Wrightbus. Collate data from the training needs analysis and support with developing a training plan to deliver appropriate training programmes in a timely manner. Support with developing a suite of Performance and Development policies, procedures and practices which meet the requirements of ISO9001. Develop and facilitate training programmes ensuring business objectives are met in a timely manner and to the appropriate standard. Plan and co-ordinate the annual training diary to meet mandatory and developmental requirements. Ensure that the skills matrix is always maintained accurately. Report on appropriate KPI's which illustrate the effectiveness of the Performance and Development function and its initiatives upon Wrightbus, supporting with implementing appropriate and proportionate corrective actions as and when required. Support with embedding training processes on site and provide support to the teams in terms of improvement process implementation. Support with identifying and applying for training funding where applicable, taking responsibility for developing appropriate mechanisms to support the audit processes. Represent when appropriate the needs of Wrightbus on forums relating to skill shortages, training requirements or any other relevant matters. Negotiate where appropriate with training providers on pricing, service level agreements and any other relevant contractual details. Ensuring that all appropriate documentation is maintained. Support with implementing mechanisms for succession planning across Wrightbus. Apprentice/Student Management Support the management and expansion of the Wrightbus Apprenticeship Programme, ensuring the correct programmes and resources are in place to support business needs. Work closely with Schools, Colleges, Universities and Workplace Providers to promote opportunities within Wrightbus. Support the management of the recruitment process for Apprentices. Establish supportive relationships with all students/apprentices. Support the management of the safety of our apprentice/students ensuring site induction is completed and PPE supplied. Employee Engagement Contribute to the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives ensuring that they identify, target and drive improvement in Employee Engagement. Support with the roll out of an employee survey and collate the employee feedback recognising areas of strength and those that require improvement developing an appropriate action plan. Build Corporate Social Responsibility activities into the employee engagement activities and support with training where we can for smaller businesses / charities. Establish an employee's centric focus with the ability to bring life to the employee's needs. Onboarding, Probation and Performance Management Responsible for implementing an induction process which is aligned with industry best practice ensuring that it embeds employee engagement alongside meeting legal / business requirements. Support with the implementation of the probationary and appraisal process. Ensure that line managers are appropriately trained and skilled to complete probationary and appraisal reviews. Complete quality assurance in terms of completion level, and standard of completion. Reporting findings via KPI's. Maintain relevant records. P&D Information System / Reports Ensure that applicable systems are updated accurately and timely. Prepare weekly, monthly, ad-hoc reporting and compilation of statistical information as required to support managers with continuous improvement and review of performance e.g. training hours, ROI, compliance reports - DNA, appraisals. Ensure preparation and submission of grant claims in a timely and accurate manner. Other Performance and Development duties Provide advice to line manager and employees when dealing with telephone / e-mail / written enquiries and personal callers to the Performance and Development office. Support with the development of team members. Assist in the development of training materials to include training handbooks, jobs aids, models, multimedia visual aids. Ensure all training materials meet the Wrightbus standards. Support the development and maintenance of training databases ensuring adherence to GDPR. Support the development of a standardised set of processes / systems / databases to be used across the Learning and Development function. Regularly review to ensure consistent application. Undertake audits or process reviews to ensure that Performance and Development processes are being implemented properly. As appropriate attend meetings with key stakeholders to report on training delivery. Lead and manage various Performance and Development projects in line with strategy. General Ensure that you treat those with whom they come into contact in a courteous and respectful manner in accordance with the Dignity at Work Procedure.
